Generations
At YWAM, we value the transformation that discipleship brings in the lives of our students and was it impacts their own communities. This ministry embodies a similar mission as it seeks to teach individuals about their identity in Christ in order to influence the surrounding community. In this program, we walk hand in hand with young children, coming from areas of poverty, crime, and broken homes, until they reach their 20’s. We desire to show them and their families the hope of Jesus and to see them develop strong, Christian character and principles. As a result, we teach these children how to use their gifts, skills, and talents to bless God, their families, society, and nation. As part of our core values, YWAM is dedicated “to know God and to make Him known” and this is what drives the heart of our ministry.
During the program, the morning session focuses on “knowing God” by growing the students’ understanding of Him through lessons, worship, small groups, and games. The students are split into three age groups – children, pre-teenagers, and teenagers – so that the lessons contain appropriate material and speak to the spiritual needs of each age group. Later, the afternoon session focuses on “making God known” by empowering students to transform their own communities through their involvement in local outreach.
